The county is home to Alabama’s highest point, Mt. Cheaha which is a foothill of the Appalachian Mountains. Other outdoor gems include the Talladega National Forest, Dugger Mountain Wilderness, Tallapoosa River, Pinhoti Trail, Chief Ladiga Trail and Terrapin Creek.
