Ask any local what is Cleburne County’s best asset and he will most likely say it’s our natural resources; therefore, tourism is potentially one of our most profitable industries. The Chamber is tasked with marketing our tourist industry to outsiders. In 2012, through a grant with the University of Alabama Center for Economic Development, Cleburne County and surrounding communities began to craft a strategic tourism plan for the area – Tour East Alabama. After many long hours from Chamber and Economic Development volunteers, the initiative will launch in 2014.  In conjunction, the Cleburne County Chamber plans to launch its own Tourism Committee, which will be tasked with implementing this initiative in our county, finding ways to better market and build tourism here.
